Andrew Katz and the Knife City Kids were the featured performers for Permission magazine's launch party January 27th.

For reasons beyond the band's or Permission's control, they were not allowed to play their set. Permission magazine apologizes deeply to eveyone who came to hear Andrew, to Mr. Katz, and the band, also known as Plastic East.

Permission magazine is about supporting emerging artists, and this time, a group of talented and professional young artists got fucked over. I support Andrew Katz and the Knife City Kids, and believe you should hear them. I don't know if its rubbing salt in a wound to go on about this, but I am personally disappointed, both at the lack of respect given to the band and their fans, and at the fact that Permission magazine is seen as being associated with this clusterfuck. I could go on for a long time about what happened and what I think of the whole thing, but I prefer to apologize to everyone, and leave it at that. The band did not deserve to be treated with such disrespect, and the people that came out to hear them deserved to hear them.
